The island’s rich cultural and historical background , is a fact and you shouldn’t miss exploring  the Palace of Knights  and  enjoy a trip to the age of the Knights with the Sound and Light show in the gardens of the Palace each year from April to October. Listen to the story of the Knights of the Order of St. John narrated in several languages.Also the cultural side of the island  is stressed when  Melina Mercouri Theatre is hosting a variety of cultural events with theatre shows, concerts. Throughout the whole summer there is a festival held by the Municipality of Rhodes Cultural Organization which includes music, dance and theatre. Each year from 20th - 30th August an International Dance Festival takes place in the island , bringing new sounds and pictures to the island.For the lovers of the opera and not only,be aware that  the International Opera Festival takes place each year in the courtyard of the Palace of the Grand Master from 20th - 30th July.
